Barbara’s Story

On her monthly call, Barbara* shared that she was recently diagnosed with early-onset dementia. Her mother suffered from Alzheimer's and she was her mother's caregiver, so she was aware of how the disease progressed and worried about what she would experience. 

After asking about Barbara’s current support system, her care coordinator offered to send her additional information about online support groups where she could connect with others who had the same diagnosis. Barbara was appreciative of the resources and of the chance to talk to someone about her feelings.
